As such, since the Thrower position has been phased out of Dark Elf teams in favour of more offensive types, Thorn seems to me to be a better inclusion for Elven Union / High Elves and their more traditional Throwing game. The background regarding Thorn’s more recent exploits paint him as being humorously cranky (due to his advanced age) as well as playing mostly in the present day for Elven Union teams (and also High Elves, albeit in disguise!). Kick-off Return, Pass, Safe Pass and Sure Hands make up the bulk of his Passing Skills (unsuprisingly), although the inclusion of Hail Mary Pass is an unusual addition. In case you haven’t read Spike!, the featured team gets a page summary of the team roster, including all available Star Players and their profile-shots all together at a glance for reference.Īsperon Thorn – Very much an old-school Thrower all the way back from 2nd edition (not from personal knowledge, so thanks to internet research for that one!). I wasn’t able to pick up the new team as intended from my FLGS and my local GW doesn’t stock the range (shame!) so luckily the epub digital version will tide me over for now! With the release of issue 2 to go with the plastic Dark Elf team – the Naggaroth Nightmares – I figured to do a little breakdown of the Star Players now available for the Druchii. For anyone following the current Blood Bowl releases, you’ll not have failed to notice the addition of Spike! Magazine, the debut issue coming out several months ago covering Chaos Chosen.
